In October 26 women from the church attended a women’s retreat in Mt Pleasant PA at Laurelville retreat, camp and conference center. Women gathered for worship, bible study, prayer, and fellowship. The theme for the bible study was managing your moods.  A good time was enjoyed by all who attended. It was a beautiful weekend for hiking and enjoying God’s wonderful creation of nature. Thank you Cathy Schoeffel for organizing the event.

Congratulations to the Westminster Church preschool who received first place for their float in the Evans City Oktoberfest parade. The theme of the float was “Small hands big education.” Thank you to all the kids and parents who participated as well as those who donated bake goods for the bake sale. The bake sale was a huge success! 

On June 9, 2013 we will honor high school and college graduates.  Following the worship service will be a social hour held in the graduate’s honor.

Congratulations and Good Luck to our Graduates

The SOS women’s bible group will begin meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00, on the 3rd floor of the church,  to study “Making the Most of Your Resources” by Luci Swindoll. All women are welcome to attend this group. We hope to see you there.

Beginning September 18th at 10:00 Lou Webster will be leading a young adults bible study in the fellowship hall. The study is called “Life Matters for Young Adults” and is an open discussion forum so it should prove to be interesting. The study will run for 3 months and is for young adults 18 and older. During the first meeting we will discuss the lesson and also take a look at our schedules to determine if there might be a better time to meet throughout the week. Otherwise, the bible study will be held weekly on Sunday mornings. This is something new for our church so we encourage you to come and try it. If you are interested please contact Lou Ann at louann@zoominternet.net or text or phone at 724-544-2687 so she knows approximately how many books to purchase. Please also feel free to just show up on September 18th.  We hope to see you there and feel free to bring a friend!
